Jose Mourinho has been handed over €100 million (£87m/$118m) in severance package payments during his illustrious career following his recent departure from Turkish giants Fenerbahce. Jose was bombed out after they failed to progress to the Champions League league-phase after their damaging defeat by Benfica. He was sacked just six games into the league season, but handed a €15 million (£13m/$18m) payoff, which took him past the magic €100m mark.

Djed Spence, Eric Dier, Ashley Phillips, Japhet Tanganga, Sergio Reguilon and Ivan Perisic have all departed N17 on loan, coming after goalkeeper Hugo Lloris also put an end to his near 12-year stay at Tottenham by joining Los Angeles FC.

These departures make much-needed room for potential new signings, while also helping to save the club serious money on wages. The likes of Dier and Perisic will leave permanently in the summer anyway, given their contracts expire around then, which gives both Bayern Munich and Hajduk Split opportunities to snap them up for free in win-win situations for them and Spurs.

More exits certainly haven't been ruled out before February 1 either, as uncertainty surrounds the futures of Bryan Gil and Hojbjerg.

Gil is attracting interest from Serie A and Spain, while there have been widespread rumours from as back as October last year that Hojbjerg could make way so Spurs can make a move for Chelsea star Conor Gallagher.

Hojbjerg reportedly wants to leave Tottenham before deadline day, but the north Londoners will only sanction his exit if it means a permanent move, either this month or later in the year.

There have also been reports that Al Nassr made a bid for Emerson Royal which was rejected, but the Saudi Arabian side could still come back in with another offer.

Emerson open to leaving as Al Nassr ready new bid

Indeed, according to HITC, the Brazilian is actually tempted by the move. Emerson is said to be open to the prospect of joining Al Nassr as they prepare another offer, and while Tottenham are also open to doing a deal in theory, manager Ange Postecoglou would be put in a precarious position with his lack of right-back depth behind Pedro Porro.

The former Real Betis star has also been a capable deputy to call upon this season, even partnering Ben Davies at centre-back when both Micky van de Ven and Cristian Romero were unavailable.

Former Arsenal striker Kevin Campbell has also branded Emerson a "very quick" and "relentless" player when at his very best, so Postecoglou surely won't want to lose him mid-season.

According to TuttoJuve, Spurs, and by extension their transfer chief Fabio Paratici are ‘ready to offer’ around €30 million (£26m) for his services this summer.

They also say the north Londoners are rethinking signing McKennie who is an ‘old passion’ for manager Antonio Conte.

The Verdict: Make it happen?

Conte apparently wants to sign two new midfielders this summer amid a plethora of other transfer demands and Juve’s ace may well be an astute option, even despite Bent’s Spursy comment.

While he is hardly an untouchable under Massimiliano Allegri, MLS correspondent and USA national team critic Chris Smith of 90min has drawn attention to his brilliant performances at international level.

The reporter has lavished praise on McKennie, branding the starlet a ‘pressing machine’ and ‘supremely underrated’ attacking threat for his country.

His young age indicates he may only get better, and for just £26m, the price tag would be a fairly reasonable one if Juventus agree to it.

One of the primary hurdles in De Gea's search for a new club has been his wage demands. At Manchester United, he earned approximately £375,000 per week, a figure that has reportedly deterred several potential suitors. Despite this, he has been linked with various clubs, both in Europe and beyond.

Among the interested parties is Al-Nassr. According to reports, Cristiano Ronaldo, his former teammate at Old Trafford, has given a "glowing reference" to the club's chiefs. This endorsement could pave the way for De Gea to join the Saudi club, especially with current goalkeeper David Ospina expected to depart ahead of the next season. However, the Spaniard has previously shown reluctance to move to Saudi Arabia, despite continued interest from clubs in the region.

Arsenal have now made progress in their pursuit of a “magician”, having reached an agreement in principle with his club, according to reporter Sebastien Vidal.

Gunners set sights on new forward after Gyokeres

The Gunners finally got a deal for Viktor Gyokeres over the line on Sunday, and Mikel Arteta is clearly delighted with the signing, saying: “Viktor has so many qualities. He is a quick and powerful presence up front, with incredible goalscoring numbers at club and international levels.

“He brings a clinical edge with a high conversion rate of chances into goals, with his intelligent movement in the box making him a constant threat.”

It will be a real relief to have signed a striker, but Andrea Berta and co have no plans to stop there, given that Arteta was left a little short on options out wide at times last season too, and they are currently working to get another forward through the door.

Crystal Palace’s Eberechi Eze is among the main targets, with reliable reporter Ben Jacobs revealing the England international is “keen” on a move to the Emirates Stadium this summer, and initial talks have now been held with the Eagles.

There has now been a further development in Arsenal’s pursuit of Eze, with journalist Sebastien Vidal revealing they are now “pushing” to get a deal over the line, having reached an agreement in principle with Palace.

The Gunners plan to pay £30m for the £27-year-old up front, and they are currently negotiating the time scale of when they will pay the rest of the installments, with the Eagles keen to receive full payment within two years.
